extra chocolaty dish ahead*
So, this is
my hundredth Instagram post! 💃 It should be special na? To celebrate, I have
made a divine dessert- Death By Chocolate! This is a super sweet dish, with
alternating layers of chocolate brownie, vanilla ice cream, topped with yummy
chocolate sauce and some crunchy peanuts. When I was first introduced to this
dish, it was totally an alien dish to me. But once I tasted it, one thing
became clear- this dish surely kills you with sweetness. The perfect dish for
anyone with sweet teeth. 😉
You can
surely order this dish, but making it at home is also not that hard. I have
used homemade ice cream, homemade brownie and Hershey’s chocolate syrup along
with some roasted peanuts to complete the dish. When you make the vanilla ice cream at home, you can enjoy a guilt free dessert, as we are not using any preservatives in the ice cream. Best eaten chill, with every
scoop, you can treat yourself to the heavenly combination of brownie, ice cream,
chocolate sauce and crunchy peanuts. Making the brownie and ice cream was fun,
but assembling the layers and eating it was the highlight. Your kids would love
to be involved in putting the dish together and then all of you can enjoy it
together!
Ingredients:
Brownie- 10 to 12 pieces
Hershey’s
chocolate syrup- ½ cup
Roasted peanuts-
a handful
For vanilla ice cream:
Milk maid- 300ml
Fresh cream-
500 ml
Vanilla essence-
2 tsp
Method:
For vanilla ice cream:
1. Whip the cream in a bowl until soft
and fluffy.
2. Add the milkmaid and vanilla essence
and mix well.
3. Pour it into an air tight container
and freeze for 2 hours.
4. After two hours, when it is half
set, whisk gently with a hand whisk. This ensures the perfect texture for the
ice cream and prevents the formation of ice crystals.
5. Set for four to five hours or
overnight.
Assembling Death By Chocolate:
1. Add small pieces of brownie to a
jar.
2. Top it with two scoops of vanilla ice
cream.
3. Pour a teaspoon of Hershey’s chocolate
syrup over it.
4. Sprinkle roasted peanuts.
5. Repeat the layering in the same
order.
6. Enjoy chilled.
Notes:
·
When
we whip the fresh cream for making vanilla ice cream, I used an electric beater.
You can also use a hand whisk, but it takes more effort and time.
·
As
it is homemade ice cream, without any preservatives, it becomes runny very soon
at room temperature.
·
Keep
the ice cream and brownie moderately sweet so that when we eat it together,
along with chocolate sauce, it tastes perfect.
Step by step pictures
For vanilla ice cream
whip fresh cream in a bowl, until
soft and fluffy
add milkmaid and vanilla essence
mix well.
freeze for two hours
after two hours, remove from freezer
and whisk gently with hand whisk
freeze again for four to five hours
or overnight.
Assembling Death By Chocolate
in a jar add small pieces of brownies
next add two scoops of vanilla ice cream
top it with chocolate sauce and roasted peanuts.
repeat the layering
enjoy chilled.
