Pasta is an all time favorite of my kids. Red sauce pasta has the tangy taste of tomatoes and a mild hint of cheese. It is a perfect school box meal apart from being a great dinner. You can make it more healthier and filling by adding veggies like broccoli, capsicum, carrot, mushroom or shredded chicken for non vegetarians. When I prepared this dish due to heavy demand from my daughters, I was short of these veggies. So went ahead with only pasta and sauce. The melt in the mouth cheese just made up for the lack of veggies. The Italian herbs also added a different flavor to it.
I went through many recipes and this recipe is a culmination of those. I prefer this over white sauce pasta as I find this more healthy.

Ingredients:
Wheat Pasta-1 cup
Onion-1
small( finely chopped)
Garlic-1
tablespoon(finely chopped)
Pepper
powder -1/2 teaspoon
Mixed
herbs-1/2 teaspoon
Tomato
sauce- 1 tablespoon
Pasta sauce-
1 tablespoon
Cheese- 1
small cube
Salt-to
taste
Oil-1
tablespoon
To grind:
Onion-1 big
Tomatoes-2
Garlic-2
pearls
Redchillies-2
to 3(adjust according to your spice
levels)
Method:
1.
Boil
five cups water in a large vessel. When it starts boiling add a little salt and
few drops of oil to it. Now add the pasta and cook it till al dente(just cooked). Wash it under running water to bring it to room temperature.
2.
Grind
all the ingredients given under to grind list into a smooth paste.
3.
Heat
oil in a pan and add the chopped onion and garlic. Fry well until raw smell
leaves.
4.
Add
the grounded masala to this and mix well.
5.
Now
add tomato sauce, pasta sauce, pepper powder and mixed herbs and give a stir.
6.
Add
the cooked pasta. Mix well and cook for 2 to 3 minutes. Switch off the stove. Grate
cheese on top of it and serve.
