Imagine a pleasant evening. A good time to watch a movie. You
settle on the couch, grab your device, turn on prime, put on your earphones and
watch your favourite movie. But it feels incomplete. And your heart yearns for
coke and popcorn. I don’t know the recipe for coke yet (I don’t even want to,
as I hate coke), but I can surely tell you the recipe for popcorn. Not for the
ACT II popcorn (come on, don’t tell me you don’t know how to make that), but
for fresh popcorn made of popcorn seeds where you are free to make the masala.
And all this in just 5 minutes.
I have made popcorn around 6 times using this recipe, but the
first time was a flop. Don’t worry, I’ll tell you why. Wanting to make a lot of
popcorn (yeah because we are 5 of us) I happily emptied the entire packet of
popcorn seeds (200g) hoping to get a big batch of popcorn, but ended up with
hardly 10-20 popcorn which were in consumable state. This was because the quantity
of seeds I put was 4 times the original quantity (50g). But you guys are lucky,
as you only have to follow this recipe and tips for perfect homemade popcorn
(unless you want a mass of half cooked popcorn seeds). The recipe and tips were
given to me by Anuradha Das, a friend in my apartment. This popcorn is way
healthier than the store bought popcorn or the ready to cook popcorn mix. The
flavours are customizable. You can add extra butter, squeeze lemon on top or
add chat masala. So grab your popcorn and click the play button.

Notes:
·
Make sure that you don’t use more than 50 gms of
corn at a time. This helps the corn to get popped evenly because each corn has
to touch the hot surface of the cooker.
·
Addition of spice powders is purely your choice.
If you need it very spicy you can also add chili powder or pepper powder.
·
Don’t forget to shake the cooker in between as
it helps the corn to get popped evenly.
