This is my first lunch box series. I have started this
hoping that it will help you plan your kids’ lunch box menu. I can relate, as I
myself have been caught in a confusion on what should be in my kids’ lunch box
tomorrow. These lunch combos- short break and long break are 99.9% junk free.
All credit goes to fellow blogger Anuradha Sridharan, who blogs about clean
eating habbits and guides on how to avoid junk in today’s lifestyle.
So this is the menu for the first day- Groundnut chat for
short break and White sauce pasta for long break.
Short break- Groundnut chat
This is a super easy chat, perfect for people who are short
of time in the mornings. It only takes some boiled groundnuts, chopped onions
and corianders, chat masala, lemon and two minutes to make this dish. This is
tangy, crunchy, and not to forget, super healthy. The detailed steps are as
below-
1.
Soak groundnuts in water overnight. If using fresh
groundnuts, no need to soak.
2.
Add salt and pressure cook for two to three whistles.
3.
Drain the excess water.
4.
Add chopped onions, corianders, chat masala.
5.
Squeeze lemon on top.
6.
Pack for school.
Long break- White sauce pasta
This is an easy and filling lunch. Kids will also enjoy
this. I suggest giving the sauce and the pasta separately, so that the kids can
mix how much ever sauce they want before eating.
