Next in the
ice cream series- Chocolate Ice Cream! I had planned a couple of flavours for
this series. All of them were natural fruit flavours. But, due to the sweet
request of a sweet friend, I decided to make her favourite Chocolate ice cream
as a special addition… dedicating this ice cream to you Madhu ❤! For those of you
who don’t know her. She is a fellow blogger who I befriended in Instagram. My
daughters were also happy as this is their most favourite flavor!
Ice cream
is what you need for the summer and what better than the chocolate flavoured
one? And when it is topped with some choco chips, all the better na? The
texture of the ice cream is silky smooth. The flavor is just right. Its also
very easy to make, with ready at home ingredients. Just stir them all together,
freeze, throw in some choco chips and enjoy! Not necessarily an adult’s job,
even kids can make it with ease. So, ask your kids to give this a try while you
sit back and enjoy 😉!
Preparation
time: 10 minutes| Cooking time: nilCourse:
dessert| Cuisine: International
Ingredients:
Condensed
milk- ½ tin (200ml)
Warm milk-
3 tblsp
Cocoa
powder- 3 tblsp
Fresh
cream/ whipping cream- 250 ml
Choco
chips- ¼ cup
Method:
1. Add cocoa powder and warm milk to a
bowl and mix well until cocoa powder completely dissolves.
2. To this add ½ cup of condensed milk
and stir well. Keep it aside.
3. Whip the fresh cream with an
electric beater, until stiff peaks are formed. (see notes for details)
4. When the chocolate mixture is cool,
add it to the whipped cream. Mix everything gently.
5. Add some choco chips to this and mix
well.
6. Pour into an air tight container.
Top it with some more choco chips.
7. Freeze over night or six hours.
Notes:
·
Always
add cocoa powder to warm milk to dissolve it completely or else lumps may be formed.
·
Test
for stiff peaks- lift the cream with a spoon and hold it upside down. If the
cream doesn’t fall down, then you can assume that stiff peaks are formed. Or
else beat for some more time. I used an electric beater. You can also do this
whipping process using a hand beater.
·
You
can top with choco chips before serving.
Step by step pictures
add cocoa powder to a vessel
add warm milk to it and mix
well without lumps
add condensed milk to the mixture
and mix well
whip the cream until stiff peaks are formed
add the chocolate mixture to the cream
mix everything well,
add choco chips and give it a mix
pour it into an air tight container
top it with some more choco chips
freeze over night or minimum six hours
Hi Lakshmi! Just a doubt... could I use Amul cream for making icecream? If yes which one is preferable, Amul fresh cream or Amul whipping cream?
ReplyDeleteHi Jeena!
DeleteYes, you can use Amul cream for making this. I would suggest using Amul whipping cream as it has more fat content. This will yield a more creamy ice cream. But even Amul fresh cream will work just fine 😊
