All kind of
street foods are fun… Momos are my favourite! These cute mini dumplings with any filling taste
just amazing. But yes, it is made out of maida. So, I tried out a healthified
version and here’s the result- Wheat momos! What’s better than an alternative
to maida? I was a little hesitant in making momos at home. I never thought I would
be able to pull of the shape. Many tries and shapless momos later I ended up
with a few momos worth clicking! Though they are made of wheat, the taste doesn’t
differ much. And it is equally easy to shape! I made a paneer filling for the
inside. The melt in the mouth paneer, crunchy cabbage and the mild spices fit
perfectly with the wheat. Try these healthy and easy wheat momos today!

cloth until further use.
2. To prepare the stuffing, heat oil in
a kadai. Add finely chopped garlic and ginger. Fry for a minute or two.
3. Add onion and fry till colour
changes to pink. Now add cabbage and capsicum. Fry till the veggies start to
shrink.

powder, red chili flakes, chat masala and salt. Mix everything together until
it binds completely. Finally add chopped spring onion and mix well. Switch off
flame and mix well.
5. Now take the dough and knead well again.
Take a small ball and dust it with some wheat flour. Roll it thin. Take a small
cup and cut out a small circle.
6. Apply water in the edges. Place a
tsp of stuffing in the middle.
7. Start pleating from one side,
complete it and seal it tight.

a little oil. Arrange the momos in the tray without touching each other.
9. Steam the momos for 10 to 12 minutes
or till it is cooked completely.

Notes:
·
After
making the dough, give it a resting time for minimum 30 minutes. This will yield
soft momos.
·
Add
veggies of your choice for filling.
·
Applying
water on the edges, while making the momos, helps in sealing the momos
properly.
·
Always
serve it hot. It tastes great when it is hot.
