Peanut Butter Cups!
Valentine’s day is around the corner and I have just reached 4000 followers on Instagram! So, for a small celebration, tried making these cute little peanut butter cups! Incidentally, they are also my husband’s favourite chocolate. I came across this recipe online and it seemed really very easy. I tried it, it came out pretty good, but the chocolate was stone hard. I tried again, with a variation in chocolate- still the same. So, I did some small research (googling, basically) and tried it for on last time- the results were just like I wanted it to be- softer chocolate!
I have used cupcake moulds and hence the shape. Just love the ribbon of yellow round the corners! This peanut butter cup comes very close to the ones we get in stores- but tends to get a little melty when left out, which is perfectly fine as we have not added any additives. The taste was simply marvelous- salty peanut butter wedged between layers of chocolate. Bite into these cuties and fall in love with the perfect duo of chocolate and peanut butter!

Ingredients:
Cooking chocolate- 300 gms
Milk- 4 tblsp
Creamy peanut butter- ½ cup
Powdered sugar- ¼ cup
Butter-2 tblsp (at room temperature)
Method:
1. Take 150 gms of cooking chocolate or choco chips. Melt it using the double boiler method. For double boiling, take water in a vessel and let it boil. When the water is boiling, place another vessel on top of it and add the chocolate. (see pic below). Let the chocolate melt. Now add 2 tblsp of milk to the melted chocolate and stir well. Once the chocolate and milk are combined well, switch off flame. Let it become a little warm.
2. Take cupcake molds. Pour a spoonful of melted chocolate into them. Drop the cupcake molds repeatedly on the counter. This helps to flatten and smoothen the chocolate. Place them in the freezer for 15 minutes.
3. In the meanwhile, take peanut butter and powdered sugar in a vessel. Melt 2 tblsp of butter and add it to the peanut butter. Whip this with an electric hand mixture.
4. Take the cupcake molds out from the freezer. Place a spoonful of peanut butter mixture on top of the chocolate layer. Drop the molds repeatedly on the counter again, to help the flatten the peanut butter layer. Freeze the molds for 15 minutes.
5. Now melt the remaining 150 gms of chocolate, using the double boiler method. Once the chocolate melts, add 2 tblsp of milk to this and stir well. Switch off flame and let it become slightly warm.
6. Take the cupcake molds and add a spoonful of melted chocolate over the peanut butter layer. Immediately drop the cupcake molds repeatedly on the counter to flatten the chocolate layer. Freeze again for 15 minutes.
7. After 15 minutes, you can take out the molds from the freezer and slowly remove the peanut butter cups from the molds. This quantity yields around 12 peanut butter cups.
Notes:
· If the peanut butter mixture is not completely smooth, you can add an extra spoon of melted butter and stir it smooth.
· While pouring the top chocolate layer, the chill from the frozen peanut butter layer will harden the chocolate very quickly. So once you pour melted chocolate on the peanut butter layer, you must immediately drop the molds repeatedly on the counter and flatten the chocolate layer.
